Challenge

Perhaps the best kept secret resource for small business owners in the Ocean State, the Rhode Island Small Business Development Center wanted to attract a wider audience of entrepreneurs to take advantage of its no cost services.

Solution

We dove deep into the RISBDC’s business model to identify potential clients bases, and created a custom marketing strategy across the web and social media to target and engage small business owners and entrepreneurs. Our marketing plan included a Facebook relaunch, monthly blog posts, managed social media ad spending, communications, professional photography, and a website revamp.

While their business model and offerings were already strong, our marketing approach created a polished, professional brand image. Consistent messaging, social media presence, and improved website usability opened the ability for potential clients to quickly see — and access! — the RISBDC’s great services.

Results

“My organization, the Rhode Island Small Business Development Center (RISBDC), has been a client of Julia’s for several years. She has helped us expand, organize and polish what was a very limited marketing program into one in which we are now quite proud. Julia has been instrumental in enabling us to reach many more small business owners who can benefit from our business counseling and training services than was previously the case. Through expert management of our social media content, blogs, and other outreach activities, she has helped us to develop a cohesive, consistent image and message…which has greatly enhanced our reach and reputation. Julia is a true professional and a joy to work with…she is smart, knowledgeable and a great collaborator who takes the time to learn the “ins-and-outs” of her client’s businesses. We look forward to continuing to work with her and her team!”
