Challenge

Perhaps the best kept secret resource for small business owners in the Ocean State, the Rhode Island Small Business Development Center wanted to leverage marketing to fulfill its mission to support entrepreneurs and their businesses at every stage, from start-up through maturity.

Solution

We dove deep into the RISBDC’s business model to understand their priorities. We created a custom marketing strategy to target and engage small business owners and new entrepreneurs. Our marketing plan included a Facebook relaunch, monthly blog posts, managed digital ad campaigns, social media content on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, professional photography, and a website revamp.

We produced a 10-page booklet celebrating the organization’s 40th anniversary, and conducted a marketing audit several years into our partnership to identify new opportunities.

Results

“My organization, the Rhode Island Small Business Development Center (RISBDC), has been a client of Julia’s for several years. She has helped us expand, organize and polish what was a very limited marketing program into one in which we are now quite proud. Julia has been instrumental in enabling us to reach many more small business owners who can benefit from our business counseling and training services than was previously the case. Through expert management of our social media content, blogs, and other outreach activities, she has helped us to develop a cohesive, consistent image and message…which has greatly enhanced our reach and reputation. Julia is a true professional and a joy to work with…she is smart, knowledgeable and a great collaborator who takes the time to learn the “ins-and-outs” of her client’s businesses. We look forward to continuing to work with her and her team!”
